ESV expertise called to Northern Territory to help investigate fatal fire

An experienced ESV investigator recently travelled to Darwin to help Northern Territory Police with an investigation into a fatality.

This is the first time Victorian electrical expertise has been called on by another state or territory.

ESV Electrical Installation Enforcement Officer Greg Johnson travelled to Darwin to help detectives assess the death of a man whose body was found at a Humpty Doo property following a house fire on Wednesday, 9 March.

Initial evidence suggested the victim had suffered electrical burns.

Mr Johnson, who has spent the past 13 years investigating serious electrical incidents across Victoria, will be providing a report to Northern Territory Police to assist their enquiries.
