Annual report showcases our work  

Energy Safe’s annual report for the 2022–23 financial year has been tabled in parliament. 

The release of the report is the culmination of months of work for many teams across Energy Safe. 

Annual reports contain a lot of information about government entities and are a way of them being transparent and accountable to the Victorian public. We, along with most government agencies, must account for the money we have spent and outline the work we have delivered during the year. 

During 2022–23: 

• for the first time, there were no electricity- or gas-related fatalities 
• continuing professional development of licenced electrical workers started 
• open-flue gas space heaters that do not ‘shut down’ were banned 
• we supported a state emergency response during the floods in late 2022. 

This year, the report was coordinated by the Performance Reporting team. Finance, once again, made a significant contribution.  

Thanks also to the range of subject matter experts from across legal, operations, human resources and communications who helped produce a high-quality professional product.
