In this video, we will guide you through the process of reinstating or reapplying for a canceled license or registration using ESVConnect.
This process applies to licensed electrical workers, licensed electrical inspectors, lineworkers, registered electrical contractors.
We'll cover eligibility requirements, submitting your application, uploading attachments, making payment, responding to requests for information and tracking your application through to approval.
Prerequisites for reinstatement or reapply button. Before you can begin a reinstatement application, there are a few prerequisites. Your license or registration must have a status of canceled and you must have access to ESV Connect account.
Only eligible canceled licenses and registrations will display the reinstate or reapply option. If your license is active, the reinstate button will not be available. If your license is expired, you may see a renew option instead. After logging into ESV Connect, navigate to the dashboard and locate your license or registration. Select the canceled license record. The license ID will appear as a blue hyperlink. Open the record to access the license details. You can also access the reinstatement option from your license or registration profile.
When the status is cancelled, you'll see a reinstate license button for ELW, LEI and line worker licenses, or a reinstate registration button for REC registrations.
Select the button to begin your application. Once the application is launched, select launch application and begin completing the required information. Many details may already be pre-populated from your profile, helping reduce manual data entry. Review all information carefully and update any details where required. For REC applications, applicant and business details can automatically populate from profile, while still remaining editable.
Some applications may require supporting documentation. Navigate to the attachment section and upload any requested documents. Ensure documents are clear, complete and relevant to your application before proceeding. Once uploaded, verify that all files appear in the attachment list before moving to the next step.
Before submitting your application, you'll reach the review screen. Expand each section to review the information entered. If changes are required, you can return to the relevant section, update the details and save your changes before continuing. Take this opportunity to ensure all information is accurate and complete.
After reviewing your application, proceed to the payment step. Complete payment using the available online payment options. Once payment has been successfully processed, you can continue to submit your reinstatement application.
After payment is completed, ESVConnect automatically sends an acknowledgement of receipt email to the email address registered in your profile. Keep this email for your records as confirmation that your application has successfully lodged.
If you start an application but do not submit it immediately, the application remains available with ESVConnect in draft work list. You can return later or continue working on your draft or in progress application.
Review information, upload documents, and complete payment when you are ready to submit.
During assessment, ESVConnect may request additional information. If this occurs, you'll receive a notification and application will appear 'under needs' action tab. Open the application, review the request, provide the requested information or documents and submit your response through ESVConnect. Prompt responses will help avoid delays in processing your application.
Once your application has been assessed and approved, your application or registration status will change from cancelled to active. At this point, the reinstate button will no longer be visible because the license or registration is no longer eligible for reinstatement.
You will now see the 'standard active view' within ESVConnect. After lodging your reinstatement application, only the tabs relevant to your application are displayed. These include application, attachments, correspondence. Internal assessment and administrative tabs remain hidden from external users.
To view correspondence, simply select the correspondence tile to open the document. Once your application has been submitted, Energy Safe's licensing officer review your application, any required assessments or compliance checks are completed, a final decision is made, your license or registration status is updated accordingly.
You can periodically check progress by logging into ESVConnect and reviewing your application status. Refreshing your session by logging out and back in will ensure you see the latest updates. When approved, your status will update to active and you can continue using your license or registration as normal.
